Governor Shumlin to spotlight investment in wireless networks
with site visit at new AT&T cell site off Route 89
WHAT:

Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin will highlight the importance of reliable wireless networks
to the states economy during a visit at an AT&T 4G LTE cell site in Richmond.
Governor Shumlin will join leaders from AT&T New England during a visit to the cell site in
Richmond, which is boosting wireless coverage for AT&T customers in Richmond and
traveling along the busy Route 89 stretch. On an average day, the site carries roughly 150
hours worth of voice calls and enough data for 4,800 song downloads.
The enhanced cell site is part of AT&Ts continuing investment in its Vermont networks. AT&T
invested nearly $60 million in its Vermont wireless and wireline networks from 2012 through
2014.
