Funding for: Association of Collegiate Educators in Radiologic Technology Conference and Competition
Be it appropriated by the quorum of the Senate of the Dixie State University Student Association that $1371.34
will be allocated to the Radiology Club and its 13 members on behalf of the Health Sciences Department to
attend the ACERT Conference and Competition (Association of Collegiate Educators in Radiologic Technology)
at the Las Vegas Orleans Hotel.
1.
A. Whereas these students: April Montgomery, Breanna Dalton, Brette Maddox, Craig Degen, Courtney
Nance, Delena Hanson, Elaine Aday, Erin Bernier, John Harmon, Kandice Glover, Morgan Abbott are
full-time students, found in good academic standing at Dixie State University, in the medical
radiography program and are current club members of the Radiology Club.
B. DSU Radiology Club will be able to listen to a large range of speakers whom are experienced in the
medical radiography program
C. These students will gain new information in the always advancing medical field, meet the authors of
their textbooks, and apply the information to their education for working in the X-ray field. They will
also be representing DSU through t-shirts worn and competing in the Student Bowl against many other
schools.
D. Whereas funding for registration is appropriate under Article II, Section F, wherein Student Senate
registration fees as group registration is 50% of cost at maximum $100 per person.
E. Whereas funding for hotel lodging is appropriate under Article II, Section D, 2, wherein Student Senate
may fund lodging for groups, 50% of cost up to $100 per room, per night.
F. Whereas funding for travel is appropriate under Article II, Section E, 4, wherein Student Senate may
fund for personal vehicles- 50% of land travel cost at a maximum of 900 miles round trip from the DSU
St. George campus; Reimbursement rate to equal the DSU fleet services per diem rate for the current
school year.
G. Whereas the total cost of the Conference equals $2,258.84itemized as follows:
a. Hotel Cost: $40/night * 2 nights * 5 rooms = $400 * .5= $200
b. Travel Cost: 4 cars * .48 a mile * 252 miles (roundtrip)= $483.84
c. Registration Cost: $125 per student * 11 students = $1375 * .5 = $687.50

Whereas each student attending from the Radiology Club is paying for the remaining costs, being
$887.50
Therefore, let it be determined by the Quorum of the Student Senate that $1371.34 be awarded to the
Radiology Club of Dixie State University in funding for the Association of Collegiate Educators in
Radiologic Technology Conference and Competition.
