To: Whom It May Concern,
|.am writing this letter of recommendation for Lauren Bacus. She was my outstanding
student teacher in the fall of 2014. | have a class of 28 active kindergarteners with 7 receiving
services for special needs. | teach at Lincoln Elementary in Adrian, Michigan,
Lauren had done observation hours in my classroom over the past few years as well as
volunteering in my classroom to help with whatever I needed. When I met Lauren | knew she
would one day make a great teacher. She is warm, caring, kind, enthusiastic and outgoing.
While at Lincoln Lauren made wonderful relationships with other staff members as well as the
parents of the children in my class.
During her student teaching Lauren was very professional and always went above and
beyond the expectations. She gave me great ideas and participated in events that were before
and after school hours, She is passionate about teaching and nurturing children to learn and
become the best they can be in their academics as well as behavior. She has great classroom
management!
Lincoln is an International Baccalaureate World School (IB), Primary Years Program
(PYP). Lauren helped plan out our units of study as well as implement the Leamer Profile Traits
{LP} which is a big portion of the curriculum for ail grades especially kindergarten. During her
student teaching Lauren exhibited many of the LP traits: open-minded, risk-taker, caring,
principled, balanced, thinker, reflective, and a great inquirer! These are the traits she helped
our children learn as well as portray.
{4m positive that Lauren will make a wonderful teacher. I would love for my own
children to have her when she becomes a teacher. She is very well-rounded and is able to learn
from her successes as well as mistakes. | am so happy that | was able to help mentor her as she
begins her career!
Fondly,
Dawn Huggins-Ruetz
