AGGRESSOR or VICTIM
Topic: Psychoanalysis of a Bully
Essential Question: What psychological physical and emotional factors are prominent aspects
in what causes bullying and how can it be prevented?
Interest: I am interested in this topic because I was once a victim of bullying and I would like to
inform others that bullies aren't always the aggressor in the situation but a victim as well.
General Research: 74% of those surveyed were severely depressed, angered, paranoid, and
suicidal bullies.
4.5% were reported to be victims of bullying.
5% of bullies were emotionally unaffected by their actions.
Cyber bullying is defined as an aggressive, intentional, repeated act using mobile phones,
computers or other electronic forms of contact against victims who cannot easily defend
themselves.
Today bullies are able to be diagnosed psychologically to determine what causes them to treat
others in such an inferior and demeaning manner. Children identified as bullies often suffer
from poor mental health conditions, one being extreme depression.
ACP: For my ACP I would like to present an informative powerpoint and share it with parents
and guidance counselors. This powerpoint will help parents and guidance counselors identify
bullies and how to gradually handle them as not just a bully but a victim try to help and nurture
instead of just jumping to conclusions that they are not in need of help themselves.
