To download drivers for your laptop or notebook, visit the website
of the manufacturer of your computer.

Windows update should be used regularly to ensure your system has the latest sys
tem patches.
Juiced Requires virtual memory to be enabled.

5) Known Issues

Installation:
Installation can fail with an Incompatible RPC stub error message, this can be f
ixed by follow instructions at

Video:
Check system specification and close down all background applications.
It is highly recommended to go to your video card manufacturer's website and dow
nload updated drivers for your card.
Some drivers have been seen to have shader specific problems, you experience gra
phical issues with the latest drivers, try scaling back the shaders using the op
tion found in the troubleshooter tab of JuicedConfig
If you are experiencing flickering 'z-fighting', or lighting issues we recommend
using 32 bit screen modes from JuicedConfig.
Widescreen option in JuicedConfig will correct the aspect ratio for widescreen d
isplays.
Juiced has a number of different material techniques to take advantage of variou
s graphic hardware capabilities, be aware, using graphics hardware not capable o
f running shaders, Geforce2/4MX for example, or using the troubleshooting no sha
ders option will give minimal quality inferior rendering.
Juiced is known to be incompatible with older graphics cards such as ATI 7200/75
00 and SiS Xabre 400
Sound:
If you experience problems, it is highly recommended that you to go to your soun
d card manufacturer's website and download updated drivers for your card.
Some drivers have exhibited problems, if you experience issues relating to audio

and performance latest drivers, try using troubleshooting options found in the
troubleshooter tab of JuicedConfig, such as unticking 'Hardware mixing'.
If you find audio being directed the wrong audio device, for example due to inse
rtion of USB headset, you can set your default sound playback device using the a
udio tab of the Sounds and Audio Devices properties found in control panel.
EAX, disabling the EAX option in the troubleshooter can yield improved frame rat
es and reduce sound related issues on some systems.
Juiced requires an audio card capable of supporting a minimum sample rate of 8Kh
z or less, and will not support cards such as the M-Audio Revolution.

Input:
If you experience problems please check that you have the latest drivers for you
r device.
Some systems have been seen to experience problems selecting the controller opti
ons, if your system fails to show a DirectInput controller configuration box whe
n you select this option please run the dInputFix.bat found in your installation
directory.
Some issues have been noted with pedal set-up when using steering wheel devices,
such as the Logitech Momo Wheel, please check your 'Pedals reported as Combined
' option is ticked for these devices. This option will be found in your control
panel.
Steering wheel option found in game options should be switched to yes for use wi
th a steering wheel only.

Connect online using GameSpy, see manual and www.GameSpy.com for further details
.
General:
DirectX9C is required to play Juiced, and should be installed as part of the ins
tallation process.
The latest version of DirectX can be downloaded from:
www.microsoft.com\directx
If you encounter virtual memory errors while loading Juiced you will need to cle
ar some more free space on your hard drive.
Choppy video play back particularly on older systems, maybe due to a fragmented
hard drive, consider using Disk Defragmenter.
It is strongly recommended that you close all applications before installing and
running Juiced. You can use your task manager to close down unwanted applicatio
ns.

Improving Game play Performance

If you are experiencing low performance you should...
- Make sure your system has enough resources free, shut down all other a
pplications.
- Run JuicedConfig and switch antialiasing to level 0
- Make sure you have the latest video card drivers for your graphics car
d.
- Run JuicedConfig and reduce the video mode to a less demanding setting
e.g. 640*480*16.
- Use the graphics options in game to reduce track detail to minimum.
- Use the shaders tab in JuicedConfig to limit the more sophisticated sh
aders, setting to shader 1.0 will boost overall performance on some graphics car
ds.
- Turn off effect options such as motion blur and depth of field.
- Unticking the 'Hardware mixing' option in JuicedConfig troubleshooter
tab, which can improve performance on some audio cards.
- Try disabling EAX option in troubleshooter, this can yield improved fr
ame rates and reduce audio related issues on some systems.

DES COMPUTER SOFTWARE AND ANY ASSOCIATED MEDIA, PRINTED MATERIALS, AND/OR "ONLIN

OWNERSHIP: All right, title and interest and intellectual property right
s in and to the Software (including but not limited to any titles, computer code
, themes, objects, characters, character names, stories, dialog, catch phrases,
locations, concepts, artwork, images, photographs, animations, video, sounds, au
dio-visual effects, music, musical compositions, text and "applets," incorporate
d into the Software), the accompanying printed materials, and any copies of the
Software, are owned by THQ or its licensors. This Agreement grants you no rights
to use such content other than as part of the Software. All rights not express
ly granted under this Agreement are reserved by THQ.
5.
This Agreement is effective upon your installation of the Software and s
hall continue until revoked by THQ or until you breach any term hereof; upon ter
mination you agree to destroy and/or delete all copies of the Software in your p
ossession.
6.
You shall not modify the Software or merge the Software into another com
puter Program (except to the extent the Software is made to operate within a com
puter operating system and in connection with other computer program) or create
derivative works based upon the Software.
7.
The Software may not be downloaded or otherwise exported or re-exported
into (or to a national or resident of) any country to which the U.S. has embargo
ed goods or to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department list of Specially Designat
ed Nationals or the U.S. Commerce Department's Table of Deny Orders. If you do n

LIMITED CD-ROM WARRANTY: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contai
ned herein, and solely with respect to Software distributed on CD-ROM, THQ warra
nts to the original consumer purchaser of this Software on CD-ROM that the recor
ding medium on which the Software is recorded will be free from defects in mater
ial and workmanship for 90 days from the date of purchase. If the recording med
ium is found defective within 90 days of original purchase, THQ agrees to replac
e, free of charge, any product discovered to be defective within such period upo
n its receipt of the product, postage paid, with proof of the date of purchase,
as long as the Software is still being manufactured by THQ. In the event that t
he Software is no longer available, THQ retains the right to substitute a simila
r Software of equal or greater value. This warranty is limited to the recording
medium containing the Software as originally provided by THQ and is not applica
ble to normal wear and tear. This warranty shall not be applicable and shall be
void if the defect has arisen through abuse, mistreatment, or neglect. Any impli

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT THQ AND ITS LIC
ENSORS SHALL NOT ASSUME OR HAVE ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY ACTION BY THQ OR ITS CONTE
NT PROVIDERS, OTHER PARTICIPANTS OR OTHER LICENSORS WITH RESPECT TO CONDUCT, COM
MUNICATION OR CONTENT OF THE SOFTWARE. THQ AND ITS LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE

FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DA

MAGES RESULTING FROM POSSESSION, USE, OR MALFUNCTION OF THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING
DAMAGES TO PROPERTY, LOSS OF GOODWILL, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION AND, TO T
HE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURIES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF TH

S LICENSORS ENTIRE LIABILITY TO YOU AND YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY BREACH OF T
HIS AGREEMENT IS LIMITED SOLELY TO THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE SOFTWARE
, IF ANY. BECAUSE SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABIL
ITY FOR CERTAIN DAMAGES, IN SUCH STATES THQ'S AND ITS LICENSORS LIABILITY IS LIMI
TED TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
11.
INJUNCTION. Because THQ would be irreparably damaged if the terms of thi
s License Agreement were not specifically enforced, you agree that THQ shall be
entitled, without bond, other security or proof of damages, to appropriate equit
able remedies with respect to breaches of this Agreement, in addition to such ot
her remedies as THQ may otherwise have under applicable laws.
12.
INDEMNITY. At THQ's request, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold har
mless THQ, its subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors, officers, directors, emplo
yees, agents, licensors, licensees, distributors, developers, content providers,
and other users of the Software, from all damages, losses, liabilities, claims
and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising directly or indirectly from you
r acts and omissions to act in using the Software pursuant to the terms of this
License Agreement or any breach of this License Agreement by you. THQ reserves
the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of an
y matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you hereunder, and in such even
t, you shall have no further obligation to provide indemnification for such matt
er.
13.
U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS. The Software and documentation have b
een developed entirely at private expense and are provided as "Commercial Comput
er Software" or "restricted computer software." Use, duplication or disclosure b
y the U.S. Government or a U.S. Government subcontractor is subject to the restr
ictions set forth in subparagraph (c)(1)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and
Computer Software clauses in DFARS 252.227-7013 or as set forth in subparagraph
(c)(1) and (2) of the Commercial Computer Software Restricted Rights clauses at
FAR 52.227-19, as applicable. The Contractor / Manufacturer is THQ Inc., 27001
Agoura Road, Suite 325, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301.
14.
TERMINATION. Without prejudice to any other rights of THQ, this License
Agreement and your right to use the Software may automatically terminate without
notice from THQ if you fail to comply with any provision of this Agreement or a
ny terms and conditions associated with the Software. In such event, you must d
estroy all copies of this Software and all of its component parts.
15.
GENERAL PROVISIONS. You may not use, copy, modify, sublicense, rent, sel
l, assign or transfer the rights or obligations granted to you in this Agreement
, except as expressly provided in this Agreement. Any assignment in violation of
this Agreement is void, except that you may transfer your Software to another p
erson provided that person accepts the terms of this License Agreement. If any
provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable for any reason, such pro
vision shall be reformed only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable, an
d such decision shall not affect the enforceability of: (i) such provision under
other circumstances, or (ii) the remaining provisions hereof under all circumst
ances. THQ's failure to enforce at any time any of the provisions of this Agreem
ent shall in no way be construed to be a present or future waiver of such provis
ions, nor in any way affect the right of any party to enforce each and every suc
h provision thereafter. The express waiver by THQ of any provision, condition or
requirement of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of any future oblig
ation to comply with such provision, condition or requirement. Notwithstanding a
nything else in this Agreement, no default, delay or failure to perform on the p
art of THQ shall be considered a breach of this Agreement if such default, delay
or failure to perform is shown to be due to causes beyond the reasonable contro
