1 Purpose
To clean the lines (FLR-208-02921-13092XNL-6-IS); in order to remove: dirts, debris, loose
Scale and other contaminated.
Line will be cleaned as per mark-up P&IDs attached using as a blowing medium AIR.
2 Reference
2.1 Air Blowing Procedure (101300-12-PR-1141).
2.2 KNPC HSE Standards.
2.3 Procedure for Temporary Piping and Hose Connections (#MAB-MNZ2(PROC)-07-004).
2.4 Safety Guide Lines on Pressure Testing (#HSE-TSSA-12-1133).
3 Health Safety and Environment
3.1 Piping support must be strong enough to blow out.
3.2 Air blow out point should be diverted to a safe location.
3.3 Wearing the appropriate PPE, in order to perform in a safe manner the blowing
Operation.
3.4 Post warning sign & barricade tapes, to indicate the restricted area.
3.5 inform all the effected neighbors.
3.6 Work permit Risk Assessment shall be carried out and recommendation shall be followed
strictly.
3.7 Adhere to all safety rules in the site such as work permit procedures. Any hazards shall be
identified and properly removed prior to the air blowing.
4 Responsibility
The accomplishment of the cleaning operation from technique, qualitative, health, safety,
environmentally point of view is in responsibility of the GS pre-commissioning team.

6 Blowing operation-:
6.1 Open the air supply (IP point) and increase the air pressure
(The air supplying pressure will be 4 < P < 5 brag).
6.2 Open the temporary valve on point BP1, and blow out the line until the exhaust air appears clean
in the white cloth as a target.
6.3 Close the air supply (IP point)
6.4 Close the temporary valve on point BP1.
NOTE 1:- Make sure that the pressure gauge (installed with the manifold) should be calibrated.
NOTE 2:- Make sure that drain, vent, TG & PG connection point valves are fully clean & air can
blow through them.
NOTE 3:-The air blowing operation will be repeated, until the air from each blowing out points is
clean in the white cloth as a target.
NOTE 4:- Make sure that the blow out air goes to a safe area.
7 Reinstatement work
7.1 Remove all temporary items (valve, hoses, blinds, connector/adaptors, spools, etc).
7.2 Remove all warning taps and caution tags.
7.3 Reinstall fittings and all the other mechanical elements, in accordance with P&ID drawings.
Note: For reinstalling will be used new gaskets, as per design on P&ID.
8 Inspection & Acceptance criteria
8.1 Visual joint inspection by QC inspector & KNPC representative.
8.2 Based on the general procedure, blow out from open ends into white cloth until they remain clean.

9.1 Symbol and legends: 1 sheet.
9.2 marked-up P&ID:
Remark: - The procedure might be changed according to the actual site condition and requirements, at
that time.
