The Tasks of The Case Study

1. Design the RC-Frame structure in figure 1 that is subjected to a static load F static only:
a. calculate both, reinforcement amounts with respect to bending as well as shear effe
and provide an appropiate reinforcement layout.

2. Design the RC-Frame structure in figure 1 that is subjected to a static load F dynamic :
a. separate axial and shear quotas from a general acceleration wave induced by an im
force Fdynamic ;

b. calculate the dynamic response of the RC-frame structure:

- in first step, discretize the frame into number of finite beam elements;
- modify a general beam element to ensure a transmission of compression and
shear waves separately;
- compute structural response by means of acceleration development along syste
axis
- shear waves shall be analyzed with respect to pure bending and shear effects.
3. The finite element program InfoCAD has to be used for calculation purposes
