My name is Roderick Randolph and I am currently a freshman at Alabama Agricultural

and Mechanical University. I chose Alabama A&M University because I received an athletic
scholarship, as well as an academic scholarship. In addition to that, I also had numerous family
members attend Alabama A&M University, including my father and uncle. Another reason why
I decided to go to school here is because I have lived in Madison, Alabama all of my life and I
know that students that A&M has an excellent Engineering program. The prior knowledge of the
Engineering program here at A&M is what made interested in Engineering. While I am here at
Alabama A&M University, I plan on obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a
concentration in Propulsion. I am interested in Propulsion because I have always been fascinated
with rockets and spaceships, and I know that has a lot to do with propulsions. I also plan on
lettering in football for four consecutive years and becoming a captain. A short term goal of mine
is finishing this spring semester with a Grade Point Average higher than a 3.3. A long term goal
is continuing my football career in the National Football League, Canadian Football League, or
the Arena Football League. I feel like I can accomplish all of my goals because of my hard work
and determination, but if that does not work out, I plan on working on Redstone Arsenal as a
propulsions engineer with Missile Defense or Blackhawk and living in Madison, Alabama in the
Cliff Cove or Highland Lakes subdivision.
