RLS Oscars

By Jamie Fox

My Favourite Film
My favourite film is probably something like
Avatar or Star Wars IV: A New Hope. Both of them,
when they were created, had amazing special
effects, and actually made you feel emotions
when things happen to the characters.

The Film

Considerations

E-Safety: DO NOT put anything in that gives away your details. Do not film younger siblings. Make
sure nothing can be classed as cyberbullying.

Heath and Safety: Be careful with any stunts. Make sure no one is injured or at risk

Resources: Tripods and such for steady cameras, Cameras (duh), Microphones for audio, etc.

Copyright: DO NOT break the law. Use MAX 15% of someone elses material.

The Plot Thickens

(well actually it barely springs

into existence)

This is the story board. It includes a gavel.

Scene 1: Outside the courtroom - Defence Attorney is late.
Scene 2: Defence Attorney's monologue - case explained.
Scene 3: Beginning of trial; Defence Attorney in moderate pain from smashing hands
on table in objection. Judge is teetering on the brink of insanity.
Scene 3a: Judge complains at the absence of Jury. Doorman called up for Jury Service.
Judge swings Gavel and knocks out doorman.
Scene 4: Defence Lawyer runs out of evidence and turns to baseless conjecture; the
judge, having lost it, continues the trial.
The Prosecution laughs. Doorman fullyrecovers.
Scene 5: The judge regains his senses - a miracle in and of itself - and the Defence
Attorney needs serious medical attention. The doorman is traumatised.
Scene 6: The case is finally taken out of court.

Characters

Judge: Oli H
Jury/Doorman: Api P
Prosecution: Jamie F
Defence: Jude L

Effects Editing
We will add in affects after filming.
Some of these effects will be things
like Slo-Mo when the gavel (paper)
hits the doorman.

Recording
We will use 2 cameras on tripods to
record, and a homemade boom mic
to record sound.

Editing

I have edited films before. I have made a few films for school
work before (including last years Oscars) and did a film for English
work not very long ago. I have used Serif and Apples iMovie.
To edit our film we will need to add a few transitions but not many
as I dont think they add that much to a film. We will also need to
add music in some places as well as the constant audio of our
voices. We will need to add and titles and credits. We will need to
cut between the two camera shots and edit away unwanted film.

Editing Software

Serif Movie Plus: the second best editing software. It has a complicated user interface, however
when you learn where everything is it has the second most features.
Adobe Premier Pro: Probably the best movie editing software around, however it is by far the most
expensive. It costs 26 a month (because adobe is mean)
Windows Movie Maker: not very easy to use but a bit easier than serif. However it is not very
powerful. It is probably the worst software to use.
iMovie: this is more powerful than Windows Movie Maker but is less powerful than serif. It has an
easier interface but can ONLY BE USED ON A MAC!
Based on this we will be using Serif Movie Plus as it is the most powerful and easiest to use and can
be used at home and in school.
