Stepmania 5 & FiestaEx

About the game:


This game is based on StepMania 5. PayMode is disabled to prevent its wrong use.
The games is a simulation of the Pump It Up Fiesta Ex interface. It includes the
Arcade game mode and Battle game mode (without HyperPotion and BrainIQ). Future versions of
the game will not have Mission Zone or Skill Up Zone.

Set up steps:
1. Extract the file FiestaEx SM5.rar.
2. The game has two groups folder by default. To change them go to:
Options -> Theme Options.
3. Add songs to the battle groups to play in BattleMode.

1. How do I install Songs?


A Song is a folder which contains:

1 sound file.
1 or more images.
1 or more video files.
1 simfile (.SM, .SSC or .SMA files).

2. How do I create Groups or Channels?


A Group is a folder which contains Songs.

Groups must be in the /Songs folder, which is in the game folder.

3. What is a NoteSkin and how do I add more?


A NoteSkin is a set of files which are used in the game play of a song; images that are
loaded for each song and receptor of the game.
Also, its necessary to add a .PNG file to the /NoteSkins/Labels folder with the same name
of the noteskins.

Example
Folder name of the noteskin in the noteskins folder is HEARTS, make an image file on
.png format and save it on Noteskins>Labels and save it as HEARTS
Note: Pump It Up noteskin folders should be placed on Noteskins>pump

Escape: the game goes back to the previous screen.


F3: Debug Menu.

5. What is HomeMode, Free Play and Event Mode?


HomeMode: This shows the Main Menu (including the Editor, Options, etc).
FreePlay: Hides the Main Menu.
Event: Timer disabled. You can only play 1 stage.

6. How do I create a Profile and how can I add a Avatar?


Create a Profile: Options -> Profiles -> New Profile.
Add a new Avatar: Options -> Avatar Selection.

7. What is Basic Mode and Full Mode?


Like the Arcade, basic mode doesnt have all the game commands and must be used for
basic songs. While full mode allows the access to the Command Window, Channel selections, etc.

How do I change from Basic Mode to Full Mode?


Following the sequence: Z,Q,S,E,C,E,S,Q,Z or 1,7,5,9,3,9,5,7,1

9. How can I open the Command Window?


Following the sequence: Z,C,Z,C,Z,C or 1,3,1,3,1,3

10. How can I join another player?


Pressing the center button of the new player.

11. What is Battle Mode?


BattleMode can be accessed when a new player joins the game (in FullMode).

About the new features


Questions and answers
1. How do I set a step as Single Performance or Double Performance?
Single Performance: Steps must be Single type. Must add to the steps description SP.
For example: hard steps SP.
Double Performance: Steps must be Double type. Must add to the steps description
DP. For exmaple: double per DP.

2. How I edit the Double Performance steps?


Creating Double type steps. Selecting the TapNote: Tap, and using the H and J keys
,you can change the player noteskins.

Note: There are only 3 DP noteskins available, plus the Default noteskins.
Note: This can be made also for Single type steps.

3. How do I change the level step to Lv 00, Lv ?? o Lv !! ?


Level 00: must set the Meter = 0.
Level ??: must set the Meter = 99.
Level !!: must set the Meter = -1.

4. How do I set a step like New or Another?


Adding to the description of the steps the words newstep or another respectively.
Note: A whole group can be set as new for all the songs in the group (read the next
question).

How do I change the group information?

A group can count with a image file to represent the group in the game, also a sound and a
description.
Image: must be a image file with the name banner. Must be in the group folder.

Sound: must be a sound file with name sound and must be inside the info folder.

Description: must be in the Description parameter and ends with a ; in the data.txt
file.

Note: On the data.txt file you can also write UseNew=true; to set all the song steps in
that song cannel as NEW.

6. How do I change the type of a song?

The type of a song determines how much hearts the songs takes.Jus tlike the real game,
the number of hearts taken by the song after its been played depends of the grade.

Arcade = 2 hearts if B or less; 1 heart if A or better.


Shortcut = 1 heart.
Full Song = 4 hearts if B or less; 2 hearts if A or better.
Remix = 3 hearts if B or less; 2 hearts if A or better.
Music Train = all hearts.

How can I choose a category for a song?

The categories are:

New Tunes.
K-pop.
Original.
World Music
Use genre = Uses the text in the Genre as category.

8. How can I use the AutoPlay?


Player 1 = Holding Right Shift + F8.
Player 2 = Holding Left Shift + F8.
Pressing F8 changes both players autoplay.
