AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Refresher Course
(Classroom) Course Description: This course is a refresher course for healthcare professionals who have current certification to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as well as other lifesaving skills in different workplace settings. It is designed to give the healthcare professionals a refresher on their ability to recognize life threatening emergencies, perform high quality CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in a safe, effective and timely manner. The course includes adult, child, and infant rescue techniques. Audience: This course is intended for nurses, physicians, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, physician assistants, residents, fellows, medical and nursing students, nurse aides and other allied health workers who have current certification in CPR. Format: This course is instructor led, video based, hands-on class format. It includes skills practice. It is approximately 1-2 hours long. Certification: Completion of this course will not provide any new or additional certification. It is strictly a refresher to prepare you to respond to emergencies in between formal certification. No skills demonstration or written exam required. No card will be issued at the end of the class.
