Reflections:
This week we tuned in to our new Unit of Inquiry. We talked and wrote about our favourite stories, and
watched a performance of Red Riding Hood performed by our own KG2 teachers! We have been looking at
the form of dimes, nickels and pennies and counting these in 1s, 5s and 10s.

Learning Engagements:
Next week we will be focusing on:
Language - We will be finding out about which words rhyme this week, as well as setting
our own writing goals and learning how to edit our work. We will be sharing our writing with a
friend who will be making suggestions about how we can improve our work. We will also be
learning how to plan our stories on a story map.
Maths - We will be introduced to using calculators and creating subtraction number stories.
Unit of Inquiry - We will be talking about different ways we can tell stories this week.
We will be role playing and learning about puppetry and mime.

Parental Engagement
During this unit we will be finding out about all different kinds of stories. This will include stories from
our own cultural backgrounds. If any parents would like to spare a little time on Wednesday afternoons to
read a story to the class, please speak to your class teacher.
