Unit 7 of Level 1
We have just began a new unit which focuses on activities
from the past. During in class activities the students practice
listening, speaking reading and writing.
Through completion of the in class activities, students will
apply critical thinking skills as they continue to compare the
Spanish language and the Hispanic culture located in Columbia,
South America. Through in-class projects, they will be able to
make connections to other academic subjects, classroom objects,
numbers and daily activities utilizing over 70 verbs in Spanish.
Spanish students also began to learn the use of preterit
progressive verb tense in Spanish. The preterit (pretrito)
progressive is a verb tense that consists of an auxiliary
infinitive verb ESTAR to be, in the past tense followed by a
present participle and used as a point of reference in the past.
In addition, the students will learn how to integrate
direct and indirect objects, while speaking in the past tense.
Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns
you might have as your child practices reading, writing, listening,
and speaking in Spanish: Mateo.Saucedo@mccardinals.org.
