She will be one who students remember for years to come, for they will call to mind her authenticity, her passion, and her love for pursuing knowledge using a multimodal approach that involves the senses of the whole child. She will make each student feel special as she empowers them to reach their full potential, had the pleasure of being Carolyne’s guide teacher during the months of September through December of 2074. She entered our lives with zest and an energy that clearly shone through during our first meeting. She entered our lives on a journey to experience the learning environment and interactions of the students, but opened herself to so much more. She began building relationships with each student, observing their learning styles, their strengths along with areas needing additional support, and through these inquiries, she gained insight through conversations with me, the students and parents on a consistent basis Ms, Cohen exhibits genuine investment in the academic and social successes of the students in the classroom, as well as building a presence with other students during recess and lunch periods. She is a team player who collaborates, thinks critically, and exhausts all resources and alternatives to make learning an exciting adventure for students regardless of the subject area or content. She challenges all students to persevere, fo grapple with the complexities that present themselves, and to create small goals that lead to the completion of the task at high quality levels while increasing self-esteem and confidence. She is a “hands-on”, technology integrated teacher that goes beyond what is needed. She reaches, and takes the students with her as she climbs higher and higher. Her passion for inquiry, her dedication, commitment, and her ability to provide on-going assessment will continue to strengthen, and as a result, her students will rise and be visible and voiced due to their successes. They will leave each day empowered and eager to return day after day ready to give their best. Although | only had the pleasure of providing a space for Caralyne to “Try an” new experiences in my classroom, and te share some of my thoughts with ner fora short amount of time, she opened my eyes to new possibilities as well. We were strengthened by our collaborations and able to view learning from various perspectives, and as a result my students’ learning experiences were more enriched.
