Describe an experience, event or change in your practice or practice setting that was significant to you. When actually doing the hands on work, she was more comfortable in applying the knowledge learnt. Just by reading the procedures, she was not as comfortable but as she got the practice to do the skill, she learnt quickly and got better with practice. While doing the practice session for hygiene, when she was unsure of one step, she asked for clarification so she knew exactly what to do the next time. Based on what you described above, what were your strengths and what were your areas for improvement? Strengths would be asking for clarification, maintaining a professional attitude during the lab when working with peers and knowing what her priorities are during the lab hours. Weakness would be not being confident in the skills she knows. When doing the skill, she is doubtful and hesitant. What input have you received from your peers about your practice? She demonstrate the mature, work-life readiness skill, and emotional intelligence skill of being aware of own strengths, weaknesses, feelings, and how they affect other people and own work performance. Based on your own reflection and the input you received, what are your learning needs? I would think she is more of a hands-on leaner. She shows more confident and looks more comfortable when she is practicing a skill rather than reading off the paper and memorizing that skill. She needs to learn how to be more confident in herself when practising because not doing so can lead to confusion and hesitation in real life situations. More practice during lab hours can help her achieve more.
