    TheSalesianHumanitarianClubbeganwithstudentscomingtogetherwithadesiretobeinvolved,create
    proactivestrategiesandtoservewithcurrentissuesfacingsocietytoday.JuanCarlosMontenegro,
    DelegateofMissionAnimationinourProvince,joinedthestudentsinameetingandhelpedguidetheirthirst
    tomakeadifference.Hehelpedbringtolighttheconceptofnotonlyservingbyofferingmaterialor
    monetarygoods,buttogoaboveandbeyond,andseethepeoplebehindtheneedbydevelopingthe
    relationshipwiththem.It'snotonlyfeedingthehungryorclothingtheneedy,butseeingGodwithineachof
    themandbuildingrelationshipswithothers(Matthew5:16).AsSalesians,wehopetoplaceSt.JohnBosco's
    missionintopractice.

    Objective:Whatisthegoalofthisgroup.

    ThemainobjectiveoftheSalesianHumanitarianClubistobroadenthedefinitionofwhatitmeanstobea
    youngSalesianthroughformationandservice.ItismeanttobeaclubinwhichtheSalesianyouthappealto
    theyouthbyexample,leadershipandservice.ItisseeingeachindividualfromGod'seyes.Helpingismore
    thanjusttheservice,butacallingfromfaraboveourunderstanding,God's.It'sputtingSt.JohnBosco's
    missionintopractice.TheSalesianHumanitarianClubwillworkwithlocalandinternationalorganizations,
    suchasorphanages,notonlytofundraisebuttodeepenandstrengthenrelationshipswiththechildrenof
    theseorganizations.Moreimportantly,offeringnecessities,butafriendshipormentor,aswell:formation
    andservice.Aftereveryopportunitytomeetwiththeseorganizations,theclubwilldebriefontheir
    experienceinanindividualandgroupsettingfollowingtheexampleofourserviceprogramhereatour
    school.

    BuildingRelationships

    AnotheroftheSalesianHumanitarianClubsmainobjectiveistobuildrelationshipswithothersinorderto
    liveourChristianandSalesiancalling.Inordertofacilitatethistypeofexchange,theclubhopestoconnect
    withorganizationsandindividualswhowouldbenefitfromtheclubmemberspresence.Possiblefuture
    projectsinclude:
    1. SalesianBoysandGirlsClub
    2. LosAngelesMission
    3. LocalOrphanages
    4. Watsonville
    5. ElDesayunadorSalesianCommunityinTijuana

    MeetingTimesandLocation

    TheSalesianHumanitarianClub(SHC)planstomeetweeklybrieflyatbreakinroom208,Ms.Auble's
    classroomorintheConferenceroom,dependingonavailability.Shortermeetingswillbeprimarilytodebrief
    onanyupcomingeventsorannounceanyupdatesandwillconsistofthecouncilmembersonly.Therewill
    beafterschoolmeetingsbiweeklytoinformtheentireclubmembersofanyevents,organizefundraising
    strategies,orcoordinate/delegatemembersrolesforvariousevents.

    TheSHCconsistsofacouncilandmembers.Thecouncilhasbeenvotedbyitscurrentmembers.
