assessment.Thistoolisbeingusedbytwospecialeducationteacherstoassess
thestudentsreadingfluency.Thisisusedonlyfortheselfcontainedclassto
assessthelevels.Thenextstepintheprocesswillbeginprogressmonitoring
usingotherassessmentsoftheprogram.Thedownsideisthatifthestudentis
classifiedasa12thgrader,itplacesthemonthebenchmarkofa12thgrade
student.Thismeansmanyofthestudentsareatthe1%2%readinglevel,with
thisassessment.Theinstructorindicatedthatthistoolwouldhelpshowstudent
growthinreadingfluencythroughouttheyear.
AIMswebisanassessmentforlearningtoolthatisusedtoanalyzedata
consistentlyespeciallyonfluencyconcepts.Thisdataanalysistoolisusedinthe
IEPplanforstudentstomeasuregrowth.
Teachersuseresearchedpracticeslikereadaloudsandreadingmentorprograms
toincreasestudentsreadingabilityandfluency.
