Lesson 1
Survey- Students take the survey before the
lesson so that the teacher can gather how
much info they already know about theme.
Game- Jeopardy game to help get the
students involved and also as a study tool
for the quiz. The winning team will get a
point of extra credit.
Quiz- on the lecture (Students study their
completed guided notes).

Lesson 2
Quick Write- students compare and
contrast the results they found with the
results their group members found from the
chapter they chose for the Webercise.
Story Board Project with groups- Illustrates
that they know how to locate theme and
support it with evidence in a visual display
and presentation.
Wallwisher- Students go on wallwisher and
answer a few critical thinking questions
posted online about the presentation they
and their classmates gave.

Lesson 3
Graphic Organizer- Students will use a
cluster map to prepare to write their paper.

Paper- Students will write a paper that

demonstrates their knowledge of how to find
themes in a text and support their theme
with textual evidence and explanations.
