Technique Tuesday!!

Divide your sketchbook page into 4 sections.

Each box should be filled with one of the following Op Art techniques.
Spheres, Pinwheel, Cube and Heart.

How to draw each of the Op Art Techniques

Spheres:

Start by drawing one or two circles in one of the boxes.

Divide the circle into 4 pieces (shown below).
To each side of the vertical centerline, draw curved lines out to the
edge of the circle.
Draw curved lines from the top and bottom of the horizontal centerline.

Draw a grid behind the sphere.

Color the grid and the sphere in a checkerboard pattern.

Pinwheel:

1) Draw an X from corner to corner. Then draw a vertical line and horizontal line
that match up in the center.
2) draw curved lines, spaced about 1/2" apart, between the triangles formed by
the lines previously drawn; in one triangle, the curves bend in toward the center;
in the next triangle, the curves bend toward the edge of the paper. Alternate
inward and outward in each section, until the lines go off the page.
3) Select 2 colored markers or pencils. With the first marker or color pencil, color
in every other small triangle in the center of the page, created by the first set of
curved lines. After these are colored in, color every other space in each of those
triangles.
4) With the other marker or color pencil, color in the opposite spaces in the
opposing triangles.

Cube:
The instructions say to trace the hexagon, NO TRACING!! Its not the
right size. You need to draw your hexagon.
