Practicum Activity Plan Student Self Evaluation

Student: April Burcham Date: 11-11-08

Name of Activity: Find it/ colored feathers
Behavioral Objective: The children will be able to sit
and do the project.

DAP Describe in DETAIL why this activity was or

was not DAP. Use your NAEYC Developmentally
Appropriate Manual and cue a reference to support
your statement.
This activity was DAP because it allowed the children
to get up and move around while finding colors through out
the room.

They were also able to identify the color of

their feathers.

Presentation of Activity: Describe in DETAIL how

you implemented and/or presented this activity.
After Mrs. Connie was done with the morning routine, I
started talking with the children about colors and shapes.
I then held up cards to review with the children on their
colors and shapes.

After we was done with that, I had each

child go get something in the room and we talked about what

color it was and what shape it was.

After we went through

everybodys objects, I pulled my bag out and had each child

pull out a colored feather.

We then discussed what color

everybody had and then I dismissed them by what color they

had.

Behavioral Objective: Describe in DETAIL how and

why the objective was or was not met.
The behavioral objective was met because the children
were able to sit down and help me with the projects.

Child Centered vs. Adult Centered: Explain in

detail how you made this activity child centered
rather than adult centered. What open-ended
questions did you ask the children? What changes
in presentation could you make that would make it
more child centered?
I made this activity child centered because the
children lead this activity.
What color is this?
Why are we doing this?
What shape is this?
I could have certain objects already pulled out.

Future: Describe in DETAIL what you would do to

improve the activity the next time its presented.
Explain what could be changed and present this
activity again.
I might try letting the children bring in objects from
home, and seeing what they come up with.
