Describe in DETAIL the steps you will need to take in order to prepare
for this activity:
I will need to make sure I have enough blocks so all the children
will be able to play with them.

Describe in DETAIL why you believe this activity is DAP. Use the NAEYC
the Developmentally Appropriate Practice Manual and cite references to
support your statement.

I believe this activity is DAP because it allows the children to

use their fine motor and manipulative skills. As well as seeing what
colors and shapes they are using.

Explain in DETAIL exactly how you will present this activity to the
children.
I will have the blocks on the table and invite the children over
to help me build a house or different objects.

List open-ended questions that you plan to ask children to prompt their
thinking. (For infants and toddlers, list comments that you might make
concerning the activity.)
What object do you see>
What shape is this?
Why are we doing this?

Closure and Transition:

Explain in DETAIL how you will bring the activity to a close and send
the children on to the next activity.
After the children help me build objects I will have them go to
the rainbow for circle time.

Evaluation of Child Mastery:

(objective measure of success)

I will go over the shapes and see if the children will be able to
tell me what they are. I will also see if they know what we are doing
and why we are doing it.
