"How the Media Fueled the War in Iraq." Truthout. 20 Mar. 2013. Web. 17 Mar. 2015.

The Daily Take Team has written many articles about what goes on in the world.
Their articles get published on truthout. Truthout is a nonprofit organization that aims to
reveal the injustices found in the system. They serve as a place where powerful voices
can be heard to inspire people to change the world and save humanity. The team who
wrote this article are wonderful and intelligent individuals.
The article starts off talking about how long it has been since the Iraq war started.
Since the article was written two years ago the opening statement is a bit off. It says as
the 10th anniversary of the Iraq war comes along, the public has now started to learn more
about how the Iraqi war actually started. The writers of this piece said that it was easy to
blame the Bush administration for starting the war in the Middle East.
Mega media moguls like Bill O Reilly were one of the most proponents of the
war. The media portrayed Saddam Hussein as the leader of the 9/11 attacks. Three
quarters of the American population thought Hussein was involved in the attacks
somehow. So many other news outlets followed his leads and accused Iraq of having
weapons of mass destruction.

When American soldiers went to Iraq, they didnt find all kinds of bad, bad
stuff. OReilly, being one of the biggest supporters of the war, was wrong for supporting
it. He misguided the public into thinking war with Iraq was okay. Many media people
with power pushed the war to the public. Many wanted linked Al Qaeda to Hussein so
badly, but at the end of the day they were wrong. No one apologized for being wrong and
leading the public in the wrong way.
After being in war, countless lives lost, and running on lies. No one has
apologized for the war. The war cost the US trillions of dollars and taxpayer money. The
war was pushed and pushed by the media until the public was used to it. They got so used
to the constant talk about war that eventfully Americans stopped caring that there was a
war even going on. The media holds intense power, intense enough to make war okay.
