The Barefoots

A HISTORY OF US

Norwegian Roots
The genealogy of my family goes all the way to Norway
We were among the first Norwegians to emigrate to America in
1825

Norwegian Elkhound
National dog of Norway, and brought to America by my great,
great, great grandfather Crogan Barefoot.
He and his wife Lula made a living for themselves by breeding
and selling these dogs to hunters and farmers.

Farming
My family also practiced farming in the 1800s, shortly after
coming to America.

Oil
My great grandfather moved to South Carolina and started an oil
company that my grandfather later took over and delivered oil to
people with oil furnaces in the 1950s.

Superior Rug Cleaners

After my grandfather developed Rheumatoid Arthritis he had to
sell the oil company.
After some recovery he started a carpet cleaning company
called Superior Rug Cleaners.
