Introduction of self

Hello, my name is Cora Wright. I was born September 22, 1969 in Chicago
Illinois. I am currently attending Richard Daley College in the city of Chicago
enrolled in the Associates Degree in Applied Science Program. I am studying
Child Development in my preparation for Early Childhood Education
profession.
I am passionate about quality education and an advocate of Early
Education. I strongly believe that a teacher is the most important tools in the
learning environment.
I believe each child as a individual learn at their own pace in a secure,
caring, stimulating environment , in which they can grow and develop
cognitively, physically, socially, and emotionally. As an educator I am
obligated to help children meet their full potential in all these areas, by
providing a environment that is safe, supporting, risk- taking, and open to
new ideas.
There are a few elements I believe to be conducive to establishing
such an experience. (1.) As a teacher I will offer young children patience, for
example, I will make time to see that each child is observed as a group and
individually, so that he or she can have the appropriate assessment and
support, to progress as he or she complete mile stones. (2) I will offer
compassion for example; I will always make sure that the children are my
first priority in building relationships and trust. So, that the child is
comfortable enough to express him or herself. I will offer empathy, for
example, I will take time to understand and share each child individual
feelings as they are talking and expressing themselves. (3) I will offer
personality, for example, I will bring in my own individual difference, as well

to be able to except their character. (4) I will also offer knowledge, skills and,
experience for example: I will take what have learned in each of my child
development classes and apply it in the early child development setting,
