Annotated Bibliography Reflection
The assignment of an annotated bibliography on a topic relevant to our
career path was a great way, especially as most of us are first-years, to think
seriously about our choice of major and what that choice will bring us in life.
Researching this topic and analyzing the articles I learned a lot about the
human relations side of the hospitality business and how huge of an issue
the high turnover rates are. In addition, I am sold on the point that it is highly
valuable to hire older workers (65+) for they can offer so much loyalty to a
company.
The easiest part of the annotated bibliography was tying the articles
together and relating topics to one another, as many of the hospitality facets
are interrelated. The most difficult aspect when writing the paper was
withholding my own opinion from the annotations. I feel very accomplished
with the product of my final draft. I found the workshops and the overall way
our class was set up very helpful, and I can now say that I know how to write
an annotated bibliography because to be perfectly honest I had no idea such
a thing existed until this class.
