Mid-Term Reflection
I really enjoyed free writing the most. On my high school or previous writing classes, we
did not do free writing. Free writing has helped me a lot with my other assignments in other
classes. Every time I have an assignment instead of waiting and starting to do the assignment the
night before, I sit down and start free writing all the ideas that I have on the subject and then go
over my free write paragraph to help me do the assignment. I have learned that the biggest
difference between college writing and high school writing is thought behind the paragraphs and
the research behind the papers. In high school we focused more on the grammar and the format
of the papers and essays that we wrote that we forgot about the content of the assignment.
I am a very bad writer, I cannot have sit down and focus on the material that I am writing.
If I had to choose my greatest strength as writer, I would pick the ability that I have to arrange
the ideas and tell the story how it is without getting into much details that are not relevant to the
main point.
My weaknesses as a writer involve laziness and all the other weaknesses that every other
author meets. First, I have to be really inspired to be able to write more than one page. Second, I
have to really admire the main point of the paper.

In this class, I have learned how to properly do a research. I also enjoy learned about
free-writing, which really helped me a lot with my other classes. I really used free-writing in my
other classes. I have a class that discusses technology and science on a humanistic point of view.
We have to write about technology every week. After I learned about free-writing, my class has
gotten too easy because of free-writing.
If I really did my assignments on time and turned in all of my assignment, I would get a
better grade. Free writing and reading the book improved my writing skills. The book really
opened my eyes on how a research paper should be.
The assignment really make sense and I am really improving my writing skills. I wish
that we had more time in class to discuss the ideas and assignments. The double entry journal
made me realize that I have been reading articles and journals wrong. Also, the digital work cited
page is a very good idea to keep all the ideas and documents together.
