Motivation/Anticipatory Set
Discuss with student how asking questions can get you information.
Pre-Assessment/Activating Background Knowledge
Ask the student a simple question like what is your name? Then
explain what information was learned by asking the question.

Teacher Input, Modeling, & Checking for Understanding

Place a small object in the bag and ask the student to feel the bag.
Ask student if they know what is in the bag. Try to get the student to
ask you a question about the item in the bag. Teacher may have to
suggest questions, prompt, and model asking questions until the
student is able to form questions on their own.
Guided Practice
Have the student place an item in the bag and have the teacher ask
the student questions about what they placed in the bag.
Independent Practice
Have student play the game again along with a peer. Have the
student and the peer take turns placing items in the bag and asking
questions.
Closure
Review how information about items can be learned by asking
questions.
Were there a variety of different teaching strategies used?
Was the educational objective met? How can I be sure the students
learned retained the material?
Did the students seem engaged in learning? How do I know?
Did the group of students I formed work together and cooperate with
one another?
Was culture effectively infused into the unit?
What would I do different the next time I teach this unit?
