Provenance: Cannot establish official Provenance. No donor records exist or have been
located. These collections of records were located in an unmarked box, by Bonnie
Domingos in January 2014. The records were appraised and then given to intern for
processing. No official accession number has been given as it is presumed more records
will be unearthed.
Historical Note: Marty Vaughn was the official archivist for the San Diego County
Chapter of National Organization for Women during the early years of the 1980s.
Scope and Contents of Material:
Series I
A collection of papers in a binder presumed to be a directory for the San Diego County
Chapter of the National Organization for Women. Contained within the directory are
membership roster lists past and present, membership dues, Constitution and By-laws,
media address for radio, television, newspapers and other organizations.

Series II
A collection of more contact lists, abbreviation information, flyers for Walk for Equality
24 August 1980, Member interest sheets, newsletters, transmission of funds,
correspondences and personal correspondence to and from Marty Vaughn. Three
important letters: One from U.S. Senator Pete Wilson to Marty Vaughn about a letter he
sent to Kate Michelman on the subject of his standing of abortion. Second letter From
Marty Vaughn to Clara Justice about religious Science being a part of the New Thought
movement; containing two small booklets about the subject. Third from Jim Bates, a
Member of Congress, writing back to Marty about the letter he received from her about
H.R. 100, the Fair Insurance Practices Act.
