Students can research a different culture
Students will create a blind contour drawing
Students can transfer an image on to pottery

Materials and Equipment: pre-drawn grids, Greek research material, pencil, pottery,
clay tool, thumb tacks, glaze, paintbrush, plastic bags for storage

Art Production
Day 1-2: Build background knowledge
Day 3-4: Look for / explore Greek gods, goddess, monsters, ect.
Begin blind contour
Day 4-5: Draw out Greek figure
Day 6-7: Transfer to pottery add freeze show example
Day 7-8: If needed, extra work day add handle if wanted

Art History / Resources:


Greek god, goddess, monster images, demonstration videos, pottery images

Aesthetic Questions:
Did the student use a Greek figure?
Did the student create a blind contour of that figure?
Did the student transfer the figure on to their pot?

Art Criticism / Analysis Questions:


What are some Greek gods, goddesses, and monsters?
What is a blind contour drawing?
How is an image transferred to pottery?
