Lesson 2: Local History Scavenger Hunt

The technology needed is a mobile device.

Age it is appropriate for are 6-12 graders, so around 12 years old and up.
The students would visit and explore local historical artifacts while keeping up with the

scavenger hunt on the account from the teacher on their cell phones.
One benefit this lesson plan has for a student is that they are learning historical artifacts
somewhere else other than the classroom. Sometimes the classroom can be boring, so
adventuring out of that makes the assignment or lesson more fun to learn. Another benefit of
this lesson is that they learn cooperation skills with the group theyre in since they have to
travel to find clues, collect images, etc. Also, this benefits them by using technology because

our generation has a close relationship with their cellular devices as well as other electronics.
One benefit this lesson plan has for the teacher is using technology for the students. Like
previously said, students these days are physically and emotionally attached to their cell
phones. So, being able to connect a lesson to use their cell phone makes the students more
engaged in the assignment. The teacher also gets to make the classroom fun, which benefits
the teacher by having a positive vibe in the classroom.
