Investigate our Neighbors!

Learning Intention: Through this lesson you will use spatial reasoning to navigate a world map to identify the
direction of travel our neighbors are. Then using ICT you will investigate the landscape of the chosen place and
report back to a Padlet page.

Student orientated instructions:

1. Gather in eye colour groups of 3, and collect resources.


2. Set world map on the floor, and locate and pin the following using an atlas: New Zealand, Papua New
Guinea and Indonesia.
3. Then from the Australian connect the ribbon to another pin and identify the direction of it from
Australia. Then record these in your book using a table.
4. Then as a group select one other country to investigate the landscape using ICT. You are to record
two facts about your chosen country and post them to the Padlet page setup for the activity (post
requires, Name of
country, Who posted it, and Facts.)
