In the article School Discipline: Should zero-tolerance policies be revised? Anne Farris
Rosen addresses the issue of zero-tolerance and the outtake of education in public schools. Rosen
states that some schools have shown contributing factors of unequal disciplinary actions that
show racial disparities. In fact Rosen suggests to rethink school discipline polices for the future
of the students who are given unequal treatments. Rosen notes that schools have taken
disciplinary actions too far and have overdone the zero-tolerance rule. Rosen adds that many
disciplinary actions are going unnoticed by the amount of occurrences for suspension or
expulsion towards racial divergence. Therefore, Rosen contends that in order to keep the school
system and students in a balanced environment they should eliminate or reduce contrasting zerotolerance policies and spring up new and improved disciplinary methods.
