The industry chosen by our group for preventive maintainence is the production of urea.
The main objective of applying preventive maintainance is to prevent the the process from any
type of fluctuations. Up till now the studies regarding the basic process of urea manufacture
have been initiated. The detailed process flow diagram along with process and instrumentation
diagram is being studied so that a complete picture of all the equipments utilized in the
manufacturing process can be viewed. This is done for the reason that all the equipments have
numerous components, the malfunctioning of which can result in a discontinuity in the
production process.
The synthesis of urea is a complex process which involve various steps of varying difficulty. For
this reason the urea manufacture process is divided into a series of departments and all the
group members have been assigned various tasks. Each member is studying a specific
department so that a comprehensive preventive maintainance plan can be devised for the urea
production process industry.
