    Unit 4 Vocabulary

    Audience: those to whom a text is directed- the people who read, listen to, or view the text
    Audio Essay: explore topics using spoken text, audio interviews, archival recordings, music,
    environmental sounds, and/or sound effects
    Intro: introduction to an essay, it lets the audience know who you are and what the setting is.
    Outro: lets the reader know that your essay is ending.
    Podcast: a digital audio or video file/recording that can be downloaded from a website to a media
    player or computer
    Remediation: refashioning or rehabilitating other media
    Re-mixing: changing the original version into something new or different
    Sound Effects: any sound, other than music or speech, artificially reproduced to create an effect
    in a dramatic presentation
    Voice: the sound uttered through the mouth
