completing observations) in the area of literacy. Align each assessment with the CCSS Reading

Assessment Name: DIBELS Oral Reading Fluency (DORF)
Frequency and Use: Quarterly for students on grade level, every 20 school days for those
slightly behind, every 10 school days for those in the red. Test comprehension and retelling
abilities.
ELA Standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.1.2 Retell stories, including key details, and
demonstrate understanding of their central message or lesson.

main idea and give supporting evidence.
ELA Standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.1.2 Identify the main topic and retell key details of
a text.

Assessment Name: Nonsense Word Fluency

Frequency and Use: Quarterly for students on grade level, every 20 school days for those
slightly behind, every 10 school days for those in the red. Test students ability to read one
syllable words.
ELA Standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.1.2.B Orally produce single-syllable words by
blending sounds (phonemes), including consonant blends.
