2nd Hour
Pre Assessment

3rd Hour
Post Assessment

The above chart is a representation of the average score for the Pre-Assessment
and Post-Assessment. On average, students in the 2 nd hour class scored an average
of around 50% on the Pre-Assessment test while 3 rd hour had an average of around
40%.
2nd hour Students performing higher on the Pre-Assessment may have been due to
several of the students having read the novel before. Along with this, 3 rd hour
students did not take the pre-assessment as seriously as 2 nd hour. A lot of this is
due to that classs average behavior and attitude towards school; however, I found
it interesting that it was only a 10% difference averagely between the two classes.
Overall, I am pleased with the results that both classes achieved on the postassessment. While 3rd hour was still a low C (71%) it was much better than their
performance on some of the previous unit tests.

Females

Males
2nd Hour

3rd Hour

The above graph shows data from the average scores of male and female student
performance in both classes. With this data, I was looking to see if there was a
difference between female and male understanding and if it affected both of the
classes. What I found is that the 2nd hour females performed higher than the males
whereas the males in 3rd hour performed higher than the females. This data was
interesting to me, as I assumed that the female data would, on average, be higher
scores than the males. This assumption was made based on previous experiences I
have had with grading assignments and assessments for the two classes.
