RSVPs:
o Send event invitations to all organizations, advisors, faculty, and staff at least three
months before the intended date of the event. This will allow time for guests to determine
whether or not they will be attending the event and if the planner has space to allow
additional members to join.
o Be sure to send invitations to each exec board members of the organization instead of just
the advisors. Sending invitations to advisors only resulted in the advisors not informing
the members of the organization about the event.
o RSVPs should be sent to one individual versus two individuals. This will allow one
person to keep track of all RSVPs
Scripts:
o Have event script created at least 3 weeks prior to the intended date of the event. This
will allow time for revisions and edits to be made. In addition, the MC will have plenty of
time to practice before the night of the event.
Nominations:
o Nominations need to be typed versus written. This will greatly help the nomination
committee when making the proper decision as to who the winner of each category is.
Written nomination leads to misunderstandings of what the nominator intended to say.
Photos:
o Allow photos to be taken of each winner when the award is presented. In addition, allow
photos to be taken upon completion of the event
Successes:
Awards: The pens were ordered and received in a timely manner. Communication with vendor
was excellent!
Certificates: The certificates were printed out nicely by Clinton Printing.
Order of events: The banquet ran at a smooth pace
On a scale of 1 to 5, please rate the success of the event; one being not successful at all and 5
representing, very successful.
