A travel to the past

Brief History
The introduction of Taj Mahal has to
start from the very beginning of the

Mughal Dynasty, which was the longest

ruling empire of India. Every emperor
has contributed something or the other
to the structure of the Taj.
Shahjahan, was the fifth Mughal Emperor. His period was also called as the
Golden Age of Architecture, as he built
many Monuments, the most famous of
which is the Taj Mahal, a tomb for his
beloved life, Mumtaz Mahal.

Construction
20,000 workmen and master craftsmen worked laboriously for 22 years
to give shape to the emperors passionate dream! After which, their
hands were chopped off as rule given
by Shahjahan, since he didn't want
another Taj Mahal to be built.
Complex passages from Quran are
listed as decorative words on the
walls. Taj Mahal is considered as a
place of worship, not as a belief that
Shahjahan and Mumtaz are equal to
God, but they are being worshiped as
an ancestor.

Taj Mahal today

If you get chance to paint Taj Mahal,

which color would you use? Dont write,
show the magic of using colors.

There are a lot of things that taking

place at Taj Mahal. Approximately 2
million people visit Taj Mahal every
year.

Pollution due to oil refinery near the

monument, has turned the Taj Mahal yellow in color.
Cracks were found in parts of the
tomb in 2010, and monument
showed some signs of tilting, Architects say that it is due to the rotting
of the wooden base structure due to
lack of water. In 2011, it was reported that some predictions indicated
that the tomb could collapse within 5
years.
