BRIEF SUMMARY

The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum, that is, a funerary monument because it covers a tomb.
It is located in Agra, a city in northern India. The Taj Mahal was built thanks to the Muslim
emperor Shah Jahan, of the Mughal dynasty, in honor of his favorite wife, Arjumand Bano
Bagum or better known as Mumtaz Mahal, who died while having his 14th son and is
believed to have more than 20,000 workers participated in its construction.

It took him a long time to overcome the pain and recover the illusion of living, but
when he saw himself with strength again, he made the decision to satisfy that last wish of
his wife. Mumtaz Mahal would rest forever in a tomb built especially for her.

He had loved her so much and missed her so much, that she did not settle for something
simple, but quite the opposite: she did her best to make her the most beautiful that anyone
could imagine. From that promise and that dream, the Taj Mahal was born.
