A definition
Executive functions are a set of
processes believed to have to do with
managing oneself and ones resources
in order to achieve a goal. It is an
umbrella term for the neurologicallybased skills involving mental control
and self-regulation (Cooper-Kahn and
Dietzel, 2008).
