This semester for our teacher tasks, we worked on Dr. Seuss week. I had
three different tasks that I worked on throughout the week and in the weeks
leading up to it. The first was the entry way to the classrooms. Our theme
was Oh the Places Youll Go. My PLC group and I created a big banner to
hang above the doorway. We also created a
sign that pointed to different locations that
are well-known in childrens literature. We
put hot air balloons around the outside
because that is one of the ways that you
can travel to where you are going in Dr.
Seuss book. The second task that I worked
on was my cooperating teachers door. We
put a quote and created a truffala tree
using the students handprints. The last task
that I worked on for this week was a math
game that Mrs. Puchta was going to use. The game was to help students
work on doubles. Dr. Seuss week was a lot of hard work and craziness, but it
was also fun. All of the crazy weather made it even harder to get everything
organized and executed, but once we did, it was awesome to see the kids
reactions to the decorations. They were so excited.
