ABSTRACT
Background: Industrialization is central to economic development and improved prospects for
human well-being. Industrial workers are at higher risk of health conditions. Occupational
hazards includes chemical hazards, physical hazards, biological hazards, ergonomic hazards,
psychology hazards.
To minimize the potenstial safety and health hazards can be identified hazards.
Objective: To determine the potential occupational hazards and control of impact on palm
kernel crushing at PT. Wilmar Cahaya Indonesia Tbk 2014.
Methods: This study uses a qualitative study to explore more about potential occupational
hazards at PT. Wilmar Cahaya Indonesia Tbk in 2014. The techniques that was used in this study
was purposive sampling. Triangulation techniques and triangulation source was used to obtain
validity of the data.
Results: The potential chemical hazards are caustic soda chemicals, exposure to dust, and fume.
Potential physical hazards are noise, vibration, poor lighting, temperature heat, and radiation.
Potential biological hazards are dust from environment. Potential ergonomic hazards is working
position. Potential psychological hazards are night work hours and workload.
Conclusions: control of impact is done to control occupational hazards. Controlling the impact
are administrative control and use of personal protective equipment.
