Sound Transmission

The purpose is to demonstrate how sound travels in different media.

The materials are two paper cups, fishing line and copper wire each about 5 meters long,

thin plastic sheets and a toothpick.

The sound coming through the fishing line is clearer than the sound coming through the

wire, because through the wire a person can only hear echoes.
The vibration of the voice and tone travels through the string and since a persons voice
notes have different sounds, therefore, it makes sounds to the other person. The sound

transmitted between the fishing lines was louder and clear than the wire.
When the string goes slack, the vibration dissipates more easily and gets lost away the

way.
Sound travels faster through steel, next would be water, followed by air.
