The Central Idea for this Unit of Inquiry is

The Earth is part of an immense system called the

universe.
As part of this Unit of Inquiry, the three key concepts that we have focused on are
form, change, and reflection.
Form What is it like?
Change How is it changing?
Reflection How do we know? (How do we know the density of planets? How has
space travel affected our lives? How has our position in the solar system benefited
us? In what ways have we explored the solar system? What causes gravity? Why do
planets orbit the sun?)

Your job is to look at your solar system poster and see how the information you put
on it relates to these key concepts. Then you will write about it, giving details from
your poster. (You can even add details that are not on your poster.)
For instance, My solar system poster contains information about the asteroid belt.
I explain what asteroids are and approximately how many asteroids are located in
the asteroid belt. I go on to mention that they are in an orbital pattern, just like the
planets, but that some asteroids escape the orbit and leave the belt. This is an
example of form.
