Barcelona is located on the Mediterranean coast close to the border with france.
The city is famous for gs architectural creations the most important being sagrada
familia cathedral.
History
2 legends talk about the foundation of Barcelona is the subject of two different
legends. The first attributes the founding of the city to Hercules 400 years before the
building of Rome. According to the other legend the town was founded by Carthaginian
Hamilcar Barca, father of Hannibal, who named the city Barcino after his family, in the
3rd century BC.

Parks
The most famous of all is p guell. gaudi wanted to make it a residential area but the
project wasnt carried out. it is a place of entertainment, locals and tourists enjoying the
music of street artists the splendid view and the fresh air.
LA RAMBLA
Famous for the statues that become alive surprising the tourists who photograph
themselves next to them.

Barcelona has a great number of museums, which cover different areas and epoques.

It has an impresing collection of vessels from galeras to fishing boats. My favorite item
was a rudimentary submarine.

Architecture
Many of the buildings date from medieval times and some of them even from
antiquity. Catalan modernist architecture left an important legacy in Barcelona.
Especially remarkable is the work of architect Antoni Gaud, which can be seen
throughout the city. His best known work is the immense but still unfinished church of
the Sagrada Famlia.
Barcelona won the 1999 RIBA Royal Gold Medal for its architecture, the first
(and as of 2009, only) time that the winner has been a city, and not an individual
architect.

SPORT
B is also famous for its football teams, fc b FC Barcelona is one of only three clubs never
to have been relegated from La Liga and the most successful club in Spanish football.
They have won three UEFA Champions League titles and they are the pride of Catalia.
