Synthesis Essay DAP

The Synthesis Essay, also know as my term paper, was an alright paper. It

was only alright because even with its strengths, it had some blatant weaknesses.
First, its strengths included a thorough and decisive thesis as well as copious
amounts of examples with which to support it. The paper also included some novel
ideas put forth by the author after analyzing all the data: Differences among people
often cause segregation, and the act of segregation puts groups at different statuses
and makes them unequal. Another important aspect which strengthens the paper is
the inclusion of a solution in the conclusion to attempt to solve the problem stated
within the papers thesis: The only way to stop these abuses of rights is to stop
seeing these differences as weaknesses because in fact they are not; the idea that
differences indicate weakness is one that has been acquired. It will require the
enlightening of society to correct the misconception that disparities among people
are weaknesses and to begin to accept everyones differences. The weaknesses of
the paper included a hook that was too long and a lack of cohesiveness. The lack of
cohesiveness was the major detractor from the paper. It caused the paper to not be
as coherent as to allow a reader to enjoy the paper; rather, the reader had to really
stay focused in order to stay on topic and understand the main message of the

paper. In the end, this was not my best paper, and I hope reviewing it will truly help
me make a much better essay during my AP Exam!
