Whats a producer ?
Producers are green plants. With the
ability to photosynthesize, they store up
a huge amount of solar energy. Then the
plants convert solar energy into chemical
energy of organic substances. So plants
make solar energy affordable for all
other living organisms. For example, in
this food chain a producer is grass .

Whats a consumer?
Consumers are a variety of herbivores, omnivores and carnivores. They
consume organics formed by plants. Consumers are the most
important link of the series. For example, in this food chain a primary
consumer is a grasshopper (herbivore), a secondary consumer is a frog
(carnivore), a teritary consumer is a heron (omnivore).

Food chain is a series of

relationships between
groups of organisms,
where the transfer of
nutrients and energy can
be transported from
species to others by eating.
And if one organism
disappears from the chain,
the whole food chain dies
completely. Therefore,
when farmers kill
grasshoppers (crop
protection), other animals
can die together with
them.

Whats a decomposer?
Among decomposers we can see numerous bacteria, fungi,
worms and soil, burying beetle and some other animals. They
eat the remains of dead plants and animals and their secretions.
As a result, their activity helps transform the eaten substances
into organic nutrients and later these substances can be
absorbed by plants again. In this food chain a decomposer is a
death cup.
