REPORT ON JAVA WORKSHOP UNDER FOSS CELL

Venue: GEC, Sreekrishnapuram

Period: 23/10/2014 to 24/10/2014

A two day workshop on java ' CUP OF JAVA' was organized by the FOSS cell of
Government Engineering College Sreekrishnapuram under the supervision of
Mr. Vipin Vasu (Asst. Prof CSE Dept) from 23 rd October to 24th October 2014.

The resource person, Mr Razee Marikar, is an Application Software Engineer at Akamai

Technologies,Bangalore.He is also an alumnus of Govt Engineering College,
Sreekrishnapuram.
The workshop started at 10 am and concluded by 4pm on 23 rd and 24th of October.About
30 students from both second and third year attended the class.
Key topics covered in the workshop include introduction to HTML,CSS and Javascript,
programming in Java mainly basic types ,functions and object oriented concepts,creating
applications in Eclipse and making of Dynamic Web projects.
Overall the students could work on many examples and learn basic implementation of
above mentioned topics.

Concluding, this workshop on CUP OF JAVA' with Mr. Razee Marikar was really a new
experience for the students and was helpful in gaining some basic knowledge on
Java,HTML,CSS and Java script. The new concepts learned will be very useful in
developing web applications in future.
