Yesterday we visited the blacksmith bill Jenkins at the Woldumar nature

center. I found out the difference between a cross pien hammer and a ball pien
hammer. I know that you can weld without electricity and without actually melting
the metal. They use a flux so it cleans the two parts and they can fuse together. He
also showed us what the different parts of the anvil are used for.
We seen how to make a nail just from a rod of metal. And how to make a fire
hook. That can be used to hang stuff up and or used a decretive piece. He used
bees wax on the different stuff he was making so it would not corrode or rust. The
best tempter to work and forge stuff is 1800.
