Assignment Description You are to create a Reinforcement Toolbox for use within the classroom, which serves to enhance the teaching/learning process by providing immediately accessible resources to address issues related to instructional preparedness, efficiency and student motivation. Use the following considerations when preparing your toolbox: 1. Select and identify your target population. This will be done verbally when instructor evaluates toolbox. (3pts.) The target population is Mrs. Beys classroom. This is a second grade class room. I work with two students with learning disabilities. One of the boys is completing 2nd grade math with my assistance and the other boy is in between 1st and 2nd level. 2. Select toolbox items that are developmentally appropriate for your Practicum or Target age group (2pts.) I choose to include several items in my toolbox that students from 1st to 3rd grade could do. There will be something that each student can work on at their level. 3. Include instructional tools markers, pencils, calculator, activities for students who complete work early etc. (4pts.) I have the following items in my toolbox: Pencils Markers Calculator Dry Erase Markers Dry Erase Board Erasers Note Book Subtraction Charts Clock Time and Money Flash Cards Place Value Chart Bag of coins for Money Game 4. Include reinforcement items stickers, stamps, motivational items to reward etc. (4pts.) I have stickers students can pick from when a job is completed in class. I also have a rewards bucket filled with treats such as a box of Raisins, Fruit Snacks, little bags of cookies, and any other little treat I find to bring in. 5. Select a toolbox container that is durable, yet portable (easy to handle and carry from station to station and room to room). (2pts.) I have a clear hard plastic tote bag with handles. It is very durable, easy to carry, and the students can see what is inside. Grading Total points possible: 15 14-15=A 13=B 12=C 11=D 10=F
